Side Mix Tour: Nature, Culture and Scenic Highlights of Manavgat
The Side Mix Tour combines the natural landscapes, cultural landmarks and rural character of Side and Manavgat in a full-day programme. Its varied itinerary includes a mosque visit, Manavgat Waterfall, historic Roman aqueducts, countryside roads, Oymapınar Dam and a boat cruise on Green Lake. A possible swimming break and lunch beside the lake add time for relaxation during the day.
Hotel pickup takes place in the morning from designated locations across the Side region. The exact pickup time depends on the location of the accommodation and is confirmed after the reservation. The meeting point is normally the hotel’s main security gate rather than its reception or lobby. At properties without a security gate, the meeting point is in front of the hotel.
Transfer times are included in the total duration of the activity. The order of the programme may change according to traffic, weather, visitor numbers and daily operational requirements.
Cultural Visit to a Mosque in Manavgat
A mosque visit forms the cultural part of the programme. Manavgat Külliye Mosque is generally used, although a different mosque in the Manavgat area may be selected because of prayer times, visitor density, accessibility or operational conditions.
The visit provides an introduction to local religious traditions and mosque architecture. The guide explains the appropriate rules before entering the building. Clothing should cover the shoulders and knees, and additional coverings may be provided when required.
Visitors are expected to remain quiet and respect people using the building for prayer. Photography may be permitted in suitable areas as long as it does not disturb worshippers.
Free Time at Manavgat Waterfall
Manavgat Waterfall is one of the region’s best-known natural attractions. The waterfall is characterised by a powerful flow of water spreading across a broad rocky riverbed rather than falling from a great height.
The programme includes free time for walking around the site, viewing the waterfall and taking photographs. Cafés, seating areas and souvenir shops may be available within the surrounding visitor area.
Admission to Manavgat Waterfall is not included in the tour price. Guests choosing to enter must pay the applicable fee separately. Admission prices are determined by the facility and may change during the season.
Panoramic Stop at the Roman Aqueducts
The remains of Roman aqueducts can still be seen in the countryside surrounding Side. These structures once formed part of the historical system used to transport water towards the ancient city.
A short panoramic break is provided near the aqueducts for sightseeing and photography. This stop is not a complete archaeological site tour, but it gives visitors an opportunity to see one of the region’s notable examples of Roman engineering.
Current Status of Seleukeia Ancient City
Seleukeia Ancient City is closed to visitors because of ongoing restoration work. Entry to the site and a guided walk through the ruins are therefore not included in the current Side Mix Tour programme.
The panoramic stop near the Roman aqueducts remains part of the itinerary and should not be confused with a visit to Seleukeia.
Safari Journey through the Manavgat Countryside
The journey between the attractions continues through rural roads, forested areas, agricultural land and countryside near local villages. Safari vehicles are used for this section of the programme.
Some parts of the route may include uneven or unpaved roads, creating a more active journey than a conventional sightseeing transfer. Water fights may also take place between the vehicles. Towels and spare clothing are useful because participants may get wet.
Phones, cameras, wallets and other valuable belongings are best protected inside a waterproof bag during the countryside section.
Rural Life and Refreshment Break
Village houses, orange orchards, farmland and scenes of traditional daily life can be observed along the route. A short refreshment stop may be arranged if it fits the daily schedule.
Gözleme, tea and coffee may be available for purchase during this break. These refreshments are optional and are not included in the tour price.
Oymapınar Dam and Mountain Scenery
The road towards Oymapınar passes through landscapes shaped by the foothills of the Taurus Mountains. Forests, valleys and reservoir views form the background to this section of the journey.
Short panoramic stops may be arranged at suitable viewpoints. Their location and duration depend on traffic, road access, weather and the daily operation. These breaks provide time for photography and observation of the surrounding landscape.
Boat Cruise on Green Lake
The programme includes a boat cruise on Green Lake. The cruise passes across the calm waters of the reservoir, surrounded by forested slopes and mountain scenery.
The boat trip takes place on Green Lake, not inside Green Canyon. Its route and duration may be adjusted according to weather, water levels and safety requirements. Instructions given by the captain and tour staff apply throughout the cruise.
The boat section provides a quieter contrast to the countryside safari and sightseeing stops earlier in the programme.
Swimming Break during the Cruise
A swimming break may be offered during the Green Lake cruise when weather, water and safety conditions are suitable. Swimwear and a towel are required for anyone intending to enter the water.
Swimming is optional. People who cannot swim should remain on the boat, while children must be supervised by their parents or guardians. The crew may relocate, shorten or cancel the swimming break if conditions are considered unsafe.
Lunch at a Lakeside Restaurant
Lunch is served at a restaurant beside Green Lake. The meal provides a break between the sightseeing activities and the return journey.
The menu may vary according to the daily operation. It generally consists of a main course accompanied by items such as rice, pasta, salad and bread. Vegetarian options may be provided when requested in advance. Dietary requirements should be reported at the time of reservation.
Lunch is included in the tour price. Drinks ordered during the meal or elsewhere during the tour are charged separately. Free time may be available around the restaurant after lunch, depending on the programme.
Conditional Animal Park Stop
The animal park is not a fixed or guaranteed stop on the Side Mix Tour. A visit is possible only when sufficient time remains and the majority of participants would like it to be included.
The decision depends on the day’s schedule, traffic conditions and the general preference of the group. When the visit takes place, admission is optional and the entrance fee is paid separately by each participating guest.
Return Transfer to Side Hotels
The return journey begins after the final scheduled activity. Guests are dropped off at the main entrance or security gate of their hotels.
The exact return time varies according to traffic, weather conditions, hotel locations and operational circumstances. The complete experience generally lasts around eight hours, including hotel pickup and drop-off.
The overall programme brings together the natural environment, local culture, historical remains, rural landscapes and Green Lake in a single full-day itinerary from Side.
