Things to know about blue cruise cabin charter trips

The rules and notes for blue cruise trips contain the information you need to know in advance for an enjoyable blue cruise.

When you book a Blue Cruise with Vigo Tours, you are deemed to have accepted these rules.

  • You can check in at 15:00 and check out at 09:00.
  • Our gulets, which are made in Turkey, usually have 2-3 masts and range in length from 15-43 meters. They can accommodate between 2 and 16 cabins.
  • We will be following the specific route mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Please note that we are unable to provide the name of your yacht until the day you embark.
  • The captain has the authority to make necessary changes to the itinerary based on sea and weather conditions.
  • Our gulets are motorized and will primarily cruise using the engines. However, if weather conditions permit and the ship's equipment allows, the captain may also set the sails.
  • All our gulets are traditional Turkish-made vessels. The level of standards and quality may vary depending on maintenance and refitting schedules.
  • We regret to inform you that children below the age of 8 are not allowed to participate in cabin charter tours. Child age may be different on some blue cruise routes.
  • Each cabin is equipped with either a double bed or two twin beds.
  • The cabins can accommodate a maximum of two adults and one child, but this is applicable only for family trips.
  • The allocation of cabins to passengers will be done through a ballot system.
  • A minimum of 12 passengers is required for a private charter.
  • There is no age limit for private groups.
  • Bringing beverages on board is not allowed.
  • Our cleaning service is available before and after the trip, but not during the trip. The crew regularly collects rubbish bins and will change linens if necessary.
  • Due to limited power sources, medical devices cannot be used on the yachts.
  • Please bring your own special dietary products if needed, as we are unable to cater to specific dietaries on board.
  • Air-conditioning is not available on our standard cabin charters.
  • Optional tours are not included and it is the passengers' responsibility to purchase them. We cannot be held liable for any claims related to such activities.
  • If you encounter any issues during the tour, the captain is the person you can turn to for help. In case the problem persists, feel free to reach out to our representative 24/7.
  • Please keep in mind that we can't take responsibility for any complaints that are reported after the tour.
  • Should there be any maintenance issues with the boat, we will make sure to fix them within 24 hours. If it takes longer, we will provide you with another boat of the same standards.
  • Optional land excursions require a minimum of 8 people to be available.
  • On the first and last nights of the tour, we kindly request all passengers to be in the departure marina. However, if everyone agrees, we can reschedule the last day.
  • Our cabin tours are open to individuals aged 8 and above, regardless of nationality. Please note that there might be passengers of different nationalities and age groups.

Important Reminders

Life on Board

The primary goal of embarking on a cruise is to enjoy a splendid time amidst a fantastic location with dear companions. Even though we want to avoid sounding excessively strict, there are a few crucial aspects regarding daily life on board that must be acknowledged.

While indulging in the merriment of a gulet charter, it is essential for all individuals on board to comprehend fundamental safety measures.

The utmost importance is always given to the safety of both passengers and crew members, as well as the safety of the gulet itself.

Life Jackets

A Personal Flotation Device (PFD) is specifically designed to ensure your head remains above water and facilitates proper breathing.

The life jackets are conveniently stored under the beds in all cabins and/or in the common sitting area. Kindly inquire with your assigned crew members for their location.

Fire Extinguishers:

Our boat fire extinguishers are approved by the Coast Guard, meeting all necessary safety regulations.

Fire Blanket:

The safety fire blankets on our boats comply with all fire safety regulations on board.

Importance of a Neat Boat:

When spending a few days or more on a 50 or 70-foot boat, it is essential to consider the limited space. Beyond providing comfort, ensuring everything is properly stowed and secured is a basic safety requirement for everyone on board. This applies to both cabins and common areas. We kindly request everyone's understanding and cooperation in maintaining a tidy and organized boat. Failure to store objects properly may result in potential hazards. As the gulet serves as your home during the cruise and is someone's valuable property, we kindly ask you to treat it with care.

Shoe Policy:

Regular street shoes are strictly prohibited on board a yacht. Walking barefoot is the rule on board! However, soft-soled shoes are permitted for moving around the deck (excluding interior areas).

Guidelines for On-Board Amenities

Toilet Facilities

The toilet system installed on the boat is an intricate and delicate apparatus that is prone to blockages. Consequently, we kindly request that you refrain from disposing of toilet paper or sanitary products down the onboard toilets. Instead, we provide a designated rubbish bin in the bathroom for their disposal. It is important to note that when waste is dropped, air displacement from the tank may generate an odor. Thus, we recommend operating the pump for an adequate duration to ensure complete flushing of waste from the hose into the holding tank. The presence of waste in the hose can lead to unpleasant odors. Additionally, the usage of the phrase "Gentlemen please be seated" has proven to be an effective measure in minimizing odors in the head compartment.

Water Usage

Considering our limited water supply on board, we kindly ask guests to be mindful of their water usage. It is essential to avoid leaving the water running while brushing your teeth and to keep showers brief.

Electricity Consumption

In a similar vein to water conservation, the efficient use of power is crucial. Please be mindful of unnecessary electricity consumption by ensuring lights are not left on when not required. Furthermore, it is essential to connect electrical appliances only when the yacht is connected to a land power source.

Please note that adherence to these guidelines will greatly contribute to the smooth functioning and comfort aboard our vessel.

Guidelines for Respecting Fellow Passengers, Crew, and Water Enthusiasts

We must consider the presence of other individuals who share the Mediterranean waters with us, including boaters, fishermen, swimmers, surfers, and water skiers. It is essential to uphold their rights to safety, comfort, access, and utilization of the water.

Addressing Seasickness

If you experience queasiness, avoid remaining below deck unnecessarily and focus your gaze on the horizon. Guests who are prone to seasickness should take appropriate medications well in advance of departure.

Smoking Policy

To maintain a healthy environment, smoking is strictly prohibited indoors. You may only smoke on the deck and kindly make use of the designated ash trays provided.

Fun and Entertainment

The primary objective of embarking on a blue cruise is to relish and delight in the experience. By adhering to the principles of normal everyday life, you can ensure a seamless and enjoyable holiday.

Wishing you a fantastic cruise vacation!
