While Side was a small fishing town with hostels in the 80s, when the first tourism movements began, today it has become an important tourism resort with the highest bed capacity in Turkey. When we say Side today, we should point out that this name includes a few holiday resorts around the ancient Side peninsula and a large tourism movement. Yes, this large and important tourism region of Turkey takes its name from the ancient Side peninsula.

Holiday resorts of Side

Side Gundogdu

Gündoğdu holiday resort, located in the westernmost part of Side, is approximately 12 km away from the ancient Side peninsula. The town is named and known as Side Gündoğdu. In addition, all hotels in the town use the name Side in their addresses. When you just say Gündoğdu, people living in this region understand and know where it is, but in terms of tourism, the name of the town is known as Side Gündoğdu. Those who come on holiday to hotels in the Gündoğdu region can participate in all excursions and tours of Vigo Tours departing from Side.

Side Colakli

To the east of Gündoğdu town is the Çolaklı holiday resort, which spreads over a slightly larger area. When going from Çolaklı to Side, you pass through Evrenseki. Side Evrenseki - Side Kumköy

After Evrenseki comes the Kumköy holiday region. Kumköy is 4 km away from the ancient Side peninsula. Kumköy is the region with the highest number of hotels and beds in the Side region, most of which are 5-star. Kumköy is known for its long beaches and large bazaars. It is possible to find everything in Kumköy bazaars.

Side Cennetler

There are also hotels in the area called "Cennetler" in the inner part of the ancient Side peninsula. This place is 2-3 km away from ancient Side. Pick-up and drop-off is possible for Vigo Tours' Side tours and excursions from all hotels in this region, and the price of all Side tours includes pick-up and drop-off from hotels in this region. Those who spend their holidays in the hotels here go to ancient Side and return on foot. This region is also a large living space for locals and foreigners. There is a large local and foreign population permanently residing here.

Side Sorgun and Titreyengöl

On the eastern side of Ancient Side are the holiday resorts of Sorgun and Titreyengol. There are many 5-star hotels in these two towns. The resort town of Sorgun is 4 km from ancient Side, the area is surrounded by tall pine trees. Those who vacation in hotels in Sorgun enjoy walking barefoot, with slippers in their hands, from the beach to Side. They return to their hotel by walking along the beach with the same pleasure.

Side Titreyengol

After the Sorgun region, there is the Titreyengol holiday resort. Sorgun and Titreyengol regions are the same as Gündoğdu, Çolaklı, Evrenseki and Kumköy in terms of tours and excursions. All of them are included in the pick-up and drop-off program of Side's excursions and tours. There is no extra pick-up and drop-off fee from these regions for Side tours and activities.

The distance between Titreyengol in the east of Side and Gündoğdu in the west is 15 km. In the middle of these two famous holiday resorts of Side is the ancient Side peninsula.

For the Pamukkale tour from Side, hotel pick-up starts from Titreyengöl town, and lastly the tour participant is picked up from Gündoğdu town. For the Alanya city tour from Side, the opposite is done. The first pick-up place is Gündoğdu, the last pick-up place is Titreyengol. For the Cappadocia tour from Side, the first pick-up point is Gündoğdu and the last pick-up point is Titreyengol. In short, the pick-up and drop-off order varies depending on the place and direction of the tour.

Kizilagac - Kizilot - Cenger

To the east of Sorgun and Titreyengol, there are the holiday resorts of Kızılağaç, 17 km away from Side, and Kızılot, 20 km away. Further from these two towns is the Cenger holiday resort, 27 km away from Side. Even though they are so far from Side, the hotels here also use the name Side in their addresses. The hotels in the Kızılot and Kızılağaç regions are on the beach side, but the D400 highway (leading to Alanya) passes between the hotels in the Çenger region and the beach. There are occasional tunnels under the D400 highway to go from hotels to the beach. Hotels have facilities on the beach.

Only some of Side's tours and excursions are possible for those who vacation in hotels in the Kızılağaç and Kızılot regions. It is not possible to participate in Side tours and excursions for the Cenger region. Because Cenger is too far for pick-up and drop-off service.

Tours such as Pamukkale, Cappadocia, Rafting, Demre - Myra - Kekova, Green Canyon, Side to Alanya city are possible for this region, including Cenger, but for example, Side boat tour is only possible for Kızılağaç hotels. For the Side Boat Tour, participants from Kızılot and Çenger regions must pay an extra fee. Horse riding tour on Side beaches is possible from these regions with extra payment. While Kızılot and Kızılağaç regions are included in the Side tour program for the Land of Legends water park and night show, hotels in the Çenger region are possible for this tour departing from Alanya. Vehicles of the western tours departing from Alanya pass through Çenger (such as Manavgat river, waterfall, boat tour, Rafting and Land of Legends water park from Alanya). Participants must make a reservation for these tours on Vigo Tours' Alanya website.

Manavgat

Manavgat is a district of Antalya province. Side and all its holiday resorts are administratively affiliated with the Manavgat district. The population of Manavgat, which is 250 thousand in winter, exceeds 700 thousand in summer, including tourism workers from other cities and tourists coming to the region.

There is no touristic hotel in Manavgat district center. The Manavgat River passes through the middle of the district and flows into the Mediterranean. The famous Manavgat waterfall is located in the north of Manavgat town, 8 km away from Manavgat.

Manavgat is surrounded by the Taurus mountains. The Taurus Mountains offer unique opportunities for many interesting nature tours and excursions for tourists in the Side region.

Boat tours starting from the Manavgat River are very interesting as they take a break where the river meets the sea and give participants the opportunity to swim in the river or in the sea. After the break here, the boats sail to the Mediterranean and swimming breaks are given in the sea. Even dolphins can be seen in the sea during the boat tour.

Manavgat bazaar

Tourists show great interest in the public bazaar, which is held twice a week in Manavgat, on Mondays and Thursdays. The bazaar is held on the east side of the Manavgat River on Mondays and on the west side on Thursdays.
