An Enjoyable Jeep Safari Experience

The journey itself is an important part of the experience. As the jeeps travel through the countryside, guests can enjoy views of mountains, forests, villages and the Mediterranean landscape. The safari atmosphere makes the journey between the stops more entertaining than a standard bus excursion.

The tour is operated with off-road jeeps driven by authorised and experienced drivers. For safety reasons, participants are not permitted to drive the vehicles.

Swimming in Olympos

One of the main stops of the tour is Olympos, where green surroundings meet the clear waters of the Mediterranean. Guests will have time to swim, relax by the sea and enjoy the peaceful natural atmosphere.

The length of the swimming break may vary according to weather conditions, the season and the timing of the programme. We recommend bringing swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses and suitable beach footwear.

To reach the beach, guests walk through the Olympos archaeological area. Along the way, it is possible to see ancient stone structures surrounded by trees and vegetation. The admission fee for the Ancient City of Olympos is not included in the tour price. Guests must purchase and pay for their entrance tickets at the gate.

Visit the Natural Flames of Yanartaş

Another highlight of the tour is Yanartaş, internationally known as Chimaera. This unusual natural attraction is located on a rocky mountainside near Çıralı. Small flames rise continuously from openings between the rocks as natural gases reach the surface and burn.

The flames are particularly impressive when the surroundings begin to get darker. Their glow against the rocky landscape creates a mysterious atmosphere and provides excellent opportunities for memorable photographs.

Yanartaş has inspired local stories and mythological legends for centuries. The naturally burning fires are associated with the fire-breathing Chimaera, giving the site its internationally recognised name. Remains connected with the sacred area of Hephaestus can also be seen nearby.

Walking to Yanartaş

Reaching the flames requires an uphill walk along a natural path with stone steps. Comfortable sports shoes or walking shoes are essential. The route may be challenging for guests with walking difficulties or limited mobility.

For visits taking place in the evening, guests are advised to bring a small torch or use the flashlight on their mobile phone, as parts of the path may be dark. Drinking water is also recommended, especially during warmer months.

Participation Information

Between November and March, the number of tourists staying in the Kemer region is lower. During this period, the Olympos and Chimaera Jeep Safari Tour operates with a minimum participation of four people. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, an alternative available date may be offered.
