Discover Kemer’s Weather: Temperatures, Rainfall, and Sea Conditions

Kemer’s seasonal weather, sea conditions and practical advice for choosing when to visit the coast and nearby mountains.

Kemer weather: when to visit, sea temperatures and seasonal advice

Kemer sits between the Mediterranean and the Taurus Mountains. Summers are hot and dry; winters are milder but wetter. Choose your dates around what you want to do: beach days, walks through pine forests, ancient sites or a quieter stay by the marina.

What to expect through the year

  • December–February: cooler days, chilly evenings and the main rainy season. Bring a waterproof layer and closed shoes; leave room to move outdoor plans around heavy rain.
  • March–May: warming days and cooler mornings make walking, cycling and exploring ruins appealing. Mountain conditions can be much colder than at the coast.
  • June–August: the hottest, generally driest period. Plan strenuous outings early or late, with shade, water and sun protection during the middle of the day.
  • September–November: early autumn often combines warm water with easier sightseeing temperatures. Rain becomes more likely later in the season, so November should not be planned like September.

For regional context, MGM’s Antalya records for 1930–2025 show average highs/lows of about 15/6°C in January and 34/23°C in August. These are Antalya climate statistics, not measurements for Kemer or a forecast for your stay.

Rain, humidity and mountain weather

Winter rain can be heavy, with thunderstorms and strong winds; it is not always a brief shower. Snow is unusual on the coast, while the higher Taurus Mountains can have winter conditions. Check the route forecast before a mountain outing.

Coastal humidity can make summer heat feel more intense. A sea breeze may help, but it does not guarantee a cool afternoon or evening. Summer has longer daylight for outings; in winter, plan your return before dark rather than treating daylight hours as guaranteed sunshine.

Sea temperature and swimming

May–October is the usual period to consider a beach holiday, with warmer water in late summer and early autumn. Spring water may still feel cool, and winter swimming needs much more caution. Your comfort depends on the day, the beach and your own tolerance.

See MGM sea-temperature observations (Turkish) and look for “Kemer Sığlık Feneri”, checking the observation date. A warm sea is not necessarily a calm or safe sea: follow beach flags and local advice, and check wind and wave conditions before swimming, diving or a boat trip.

Match your plans to the season

Allow beach and boat days in summer, walking and archaeological visits in milder weather, and flexible sightseeing in winter. Check seasonal availability and the actual departure conditions in the Kemer tours and activities; activities do not all operate throughout the year.
