Bird watching tour - Bird watching near me - Bird watching areas - Bird watching trips
We will depart from Side before sunrise and arrive in Akseki region. Here we will first observe the Krüper`s Nuthatch. Afterwards, we will go up a little higher from here and look for Olive-tree Warbler and Eastern Orphean Warbler in the gardens. On the way, we will also see the Eastern Bonelli`s Warbler.
We will continue our way up past the mountain village and look for the rock nuthatch on the way. In the meantime, if we are in the appropriate season, we will look for the Rüppell`s Warbler, Black-headed Bunting, Ortolan bunting and Cretzschmar`s Bunting. According to the season, we can see bird species that have not reached higher altitudes at an altitude of 1200 meters. Other species we will come across on the way are the White-throated Robin, Chukar Partridge, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Booted Eagle, Long-legged Buzzard, and Northern Goshawk.
In April, when the snow has not yet melted, we will go to the section where the road is open. We will be able to see Alamecek and Horned Lark at the snow border. In this region, we will be able to see the Finsch`s Wheatear in April. The golden eagle nesting at 1500 meters will be another species we can see. It is also possible to see Sombre tit and Coal tit in the same area.
After a half-day Akseki observation, we set out for Demirkazık region. Our route; Akseki, Bozkır, Karaman, Eregli and Demirkazık. We settle into the pension in Demirkazık and if the time is right, we go in search of Eurasian Eagle-Owl. Dinner and overnight at the hostel.
The next morning, we get up at 3:30 and have a light breakfast and with a mountain route that will take approximately 40 minutes, we arrive at the point where we can observe Caspian snowcock and other high mountain birds. We stay here for about 2 hours and return to the hostel. There is a high probability of seeing Chukar Partridge on the way back.
After an autumn breakfast at the pension, we set out for the Sultan marshes, 60 km away. After observing the Sultan marshes for about 2 hours, we go back to Akseki. On the way, we will stop from time to time for bird watching, depending on the season.
By the time we reach Akseki, it will be dark or close to dark. As it gets dark, we will go about 25 km in search of the brown fish owl. Finding brown fish owls can sometimes be early, sometimes very late. Therefore, the return to Side may be late at night.

Hello, Thank you for contacting us. The Bearded Reedling (Panurus biarmicus) can be observed with consistent frequency throughout the year, with the exception of mid-February and mid-November. The better month to view this bird, whether February or March, is March. Best regards, Vigo Tours.
