Kemer Jeep Safari combines mountain roads, village routes, historical stops and natural landscapes in the Taurus Mountains. The route reaches approximately 2,200 metres on Tahtalı Mountain, so conditions can be noticeably cooler than in Kemer, even during warm summer days.
Comfortable clothes and suitable walking shoes are recommended. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are useful during sunny weather. Because the tour climbs to high altitude, bringing a light jacket or sweatshirt is also a good idea.
There is a swimming break during the tour, so guests who would like to swim should bring swimwear and a towel. A waterproof bag or protective case can be useful for phones, cameras and other personal belongings.
Parts of the route follow mountain, forest and unpaved roads. Dust, bumps and uneven surfaces are a normal part of the safari experience. Guests should expect a more adventurous journey than a standard sightseeing tour.
High-Altitude Conditions
The tour reaches around 2,200 metres above sea level. Temperatures can change quickly at this altitude, and the weather may feel very different from the Kemer coastline. Comfortable layered clothing is therefore recommended.
The program includes stops in natural mountain areas and a swimming break in a canyon. Water temperatures can be considerably cooler than the Mediterranean Sea, especially outside the hottest summer months.
Protect Your Personal Belongings
During the jeep journey, dust and occasional splashes may occur. Phones, cameras, passports and other sensitive items should be kept securely protected.
Kemer Jeep Safari is best suited to travellers who enjoy nature, mountain scenery, village landscapes and light adventure. Guests who are uncomfortable with bumpy mountain roads should take this into consideration before booking.
A Different Side of Kemer
This tour is not only about off-road driving. Gedelme Village, historical remains, the ancient plane tree, mountain viewpoints, the cave stop and the high-altitude Tahtalı route make it a varied experience for visitors who want to explore beyond Kemer’s beaches and resort areas.
Guests are picked up from hotels in the Kemer region and the journey begins by jeep toward the Taurus Mountains.
The safari continues along mountain roads, forest tracks and traditional village routes, with scenic stops at panoramic viewpoints along the way.
The tour visits Gedelme Village, one of the well-known mountain settlements near Kemer.
Guests have time to see the historical remains of Gedelme Castle and the impressive ancient plane tree, believed to be thousands of years old.
A short stop is made at a natural cave in the Gedelme area before continuing higher into the mountains.
The jeeps continue toward the higher slopes of Tahtalı Mountain, reaching approximately 2,200 metres above sea level. Several stops are made to enjoy the mountain scenery and panoramic views.
Later in the day, the tour stops at a natural mountain canyon where guests can relax and enjoy a refreshing swimming break.
After the swimming stop, the group visits a local mountain restaurant for a traditional trout lunch surrounded by nature.
Following lunch, the jeep safari continues back through the Taurus Mountains. Guests are then returned to their hotels in the Kemer region.
